Our local management team works with the City of Post Falls and Kootenai County permitting and inspection processes throughout the project.
Post Falls homes may be served by Avista Utilities or Kootenai Electric Cooperative, depending on the address. Avista provides 1:1 retail net metering in Idaho. KEC credits exported energy 1:1 per kWh. Both offer stronger export value than Idaho Power's reduced export credit in the Treasure Valley.
Hayden and Rathdrum homes are often on KEC. We confirm the serving utility and design around its billing structure before presenting the system.
KEC has a monthly service availability charge for net-metered homes, a small generation loss factor charge and a $6 per kW peak-use charge. The first 5 kW are exempt. Peak windows are 6 to 10 a.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.
A battery can cover part of the home's demand during those windows and reduce the peak-use charge. It can also provide selected backup loads during outages.
